Barış Öney, Re-elected to the DEIK-TAIK Executive Committee and to TUBISAD’s Board of Directors

Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK)’s Turkey – US Business Council (TAIK) and The Information and Communication Technologies Association of Turkey (TUBISAD) held their general assembly meetings recently. Barış Öney was re-elected to the TAIK Executive Committee and to TUBISAD’s Board of Directors.

Globalturk Capital’s founding and managing partner Barış Öney re-elected to the DEIK-TAIK Executive Committee. Ekim Alptekin became the new president of DEIK-TAIK who is also the Chairman of the Board in EA Aviation in the General Assembly which was led by Rona Yırcalı, the President of the Council.

TAIK, who lead the initiation of DEIK, was established in 1985 as a business council. TAIK is working to improve the trade relations and investments between Turkey and the U.S. and joint investments of Turkish and U.S. companies in the region for the last 30 years. Barış Öney will continue to be in TAIK’s Executive Committee. The committee will be working on increasing the collaboration opportunities between the two countries, supporting American companies to invest in Turkey and supporting Turkish companies to invest in USA also it will continue to support both companies from both sides to co-invest in third countries.

DEIK’s Chairman of the Board Ömer Cihad Vardan, gave a speech at the General Assembly, indicating that they were working towards integrating DEIK more into the business world and to further institutionalize the committee as they have been doing for the past one year. As of today, DEIK became an entity which serves with 129 business councils and has a great importance for Turkey.

The prominent non-governmental organization TUBISAD, appointed its new board of directors. Globalturk Capital’s founding and managing partner Barış Öney re-elected into the new Board of Directors and Erman Karaca became the new President who is also the Vice General Manager responsible for Technology in Ata Holding.

In the General Assembly, which was led by Erol Bilecik as the president of the council, who is also the Index Group’s President of the Board, appointed new Board of Directors and the oversight committee’s full and reserve members with acclamation.

Barış Öney, stated that he was pleased with the new period, and confident that DEIK-TAIK and TUBISAD will continue to produce value added services for Turkey.
